Man shot by police in Mountain Shadows dies of injuries

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A man who was shot by police officers after he pointed a gun at them in Mountain Shadows in November has died from his injuries.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said Dana Bruce Ott, 62, died of injuries related to the gunshot wound around 2:45 a.m. Friday. An autopsy is pending.

Investigators have determined the officers were justified in shooting Ott during the confrontation November 10 in the 5100-block of Lanagan Street.

Ott was charged with multiple counts of felony menacing for the incident.
