Man arrested for arson that killed four dogs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A man has been arrested in connection with a fire that killed four dogs Wednesday.

The Colorado Springs Fire Department said the fire started around 6:30 p.m. in the basement of a home on Jon Street in central Colorado Springs. During the fire attack, firefighters found four dogs deceased in the home. They were able to rescue a fifth dog. The two people who live in the home were not injured.

The suspect, 21-year-old Joshua Keith Harvin, was arrested Thursday. Police said he is related to one of the home’s residents, and used to live in the home. He is charged with first-degree arson, criminal mischief, and four counts of cruelty to animals.
