Investigators: House fire that killed four dogs was arson

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A house fire that killed four dogs Wednesday night was arson, according to investigators.

The Colorado Springs Fire Department said the fire started around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the basement of a home on Jon Street in central Colorado Springs. A total of 32 firefighters fought the fire. It was declared under control around 7 p.m.

During the fire attack, firefighters found four dogs deceased in the home. They were able to rescue a fifth dog. The two people who live in the home were not injured.

Investigators determined the fire, which started in the basement, was arson. No other details about the investigation have been released.
