Driver cited after hitting pedestrian on Colorado College campus

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A driver was cited after she hit a pedestrian on the Colorado College campus Monday evening.

Police said it happened around 5:45 p.m. on Cascade Avenue near Cache La Poudre Street. A 20-year-old Colorado College student was crossing Cascade in a crosswalk when she was hit by a car. The driver, a 69-year-old woman, told police she didn’t see the victim.

Police said the victim was dragged about 38 feet and pinned under the vehicle. She sustained multiple injuries but is expected to survive.

The driver was cited for careless driving resulting in injury.
