Police investigating after burglars break into vacant building near downtown

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Police are looking for the two people who broke into a vacant building near downtown Friday afternoon.

Police said the burglary happened around 4:15 p.m. in the 800-block of East Pikes Peak Avenue, near the intersection with Prospect Street. When officers arrived, they saw a broken-out window and noticed two people in dark clothing running through the building. The officers lost sight of the suspects, and a K9 search yielded no results.

Police found another broken window on the other side of the building. They’re still investigating the crime.
