Two teens detained for threatening Denver-area high school

HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. — Two teens have been detained for making a credible threat against Mountain Vista High School in Highlands Ranch.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said they were alerted about the threat on Saturday. They investigated and determined it was credible. They identified the suspects as two 16-year-old students at the school. The girls were both apprehended. Charges, including conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, are pending against them.

Deputies said the situation has been contained and the threat has been disrupted.
