Postal service to deliver packages on Sundays through holiday season

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Postal workers across the Front Range will be delivering packages seven days a week through the holiday season.

United States Postal Service spokesman David Rupert said they anticipate a 10.5 percent increase in the number of packages sent during the holiday season this year compared to last year.

About 90 post offices along the Front Range will dispatch carriers to deliver packages on Sundays.

USPS estimates it will deliver about 600 million packages nationwide this holiday season.

If you want your package delivered by Christmas, USPS recommends taking note of the following deadlines:

  • Dec. 15  – Standard Post
  • Dec. 19 –  First Class (cards and letters)
  • Dec. 21 –  Priority Mail
  • Dec. 23 –  Priority Mail Express
