COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The Air Force Academy Falcons are flying high into the thermosphere this football season.

Kjell Lindgren, a 1995 Air Force Academy graduate who’s currently aboard the International Space Station, shared a photo to congratulate the football team on winning the Mountain Division. In the photo, he’s holding a tablet that reads, “Congratulations, Air Force Football, on your Mountain Division Championship! Good luck in the Mountain West Championship title game! Go Air Force, Beat the Aztecs!”

The Air Force Academy will take on San Diego State for the Mountain West football championship this Saturday in San Diego. The game starts at 5:30 p.m., and will be broadcast on ESPN2 and KVOR 740AM.

Lindgren is the flight engineer for International Space Station Expedition 44/45. He’s scheduled to depart the space station next week.
