Former Colorado Springs police officer pleads guilty to misconduct

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The former Colorado Springs police officer accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a kidnapping victim and reporting false information to authorities has pled guilty.

Paul Patton pled guilty Monday to attempt to influence a public servant, a class four felony, and official misconduct, a class two misdemeanor.

Patton was arrested in July. He resigned from the police department October 1, according to previous reports.

Patton will be sentenced January 11.
