Colorado Springs schools observe Veterans Day

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Local schools celebrated Veterans Day Wednesday.

At Mitchell High School, students recognized staff and family members who are veterans or currently serving in the military. They also held a veterans’ assembly and a flag-folding ceremony. The high school’s Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps cadets visited veterans across the city.

At Carmel Middle School, students toured armored vehicles and Humvees on campus. They learned about the past, present, and future of our service members. Multiple Army leaders spoke to classes throughout the day.
