Two arrested after police spot stolen vehicle in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Two people were arrested after police spotted a stolen vehicle in southeastern Colorado Springs Thursday afternoon.

Police said around 2:45 p.m., officers spotted a stolen vehicle in the 2000-block of Capulin Drive, which is in the area of Circle Drive and Hancock Expressway. Officers determined the vehicle had been stolen from Pueblo. They went to a nearby home and detained several people for the investigation. Randy Akmemkalns, 25, was arrested in connection with the vehicle theft. Police said he was also wanted for outstanding warrants.

Officers determined one of the other people in the home, 24-year-old Mysti Campos, was wanted on two outstanding warrants. Police said Campos gave officers false personal identifying information, and was in possession of illegal narcotics.

Police found another stolen vehicle in the driveway. They also found illegal narcotics inside the home.

Police said their investigation is continuing.
