Four arrested on unrelated warrants after shot fired in Colorado Springs apartment

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Four people were arrested on unrelated warrants after a shot was fired in a Colorado Springs apartment building early Wednesday morning.

Police said the incident happened around 2:40 a.m. at a four-plex in the 300-block of Gahart Drive, which is in the area of Murray Boulevard and Airport Road. A woman called police and told them she had heard a gunshot and then seen a large hole in her ceiling.

When officers arrived, they tried to contact the people in the apartment above the caller’s. Officers knocked for several minutes before a woman opened the door and let them in. Officers found 10 people inside the apartments, and none of them claimed responsibility for the gunshot. They also all denied hearing a gunshot.

Police determined four of the people inside the home had warrants out for their arrest. One was identified as Angelo Gonzalez, 18. The other three were juveniles. Officers also learned that one juvenile in the apartment was a reported runaway, and a woman in the apartment had a signed complaint that needed to be served.

Officers have not yet determined who fired the gunshot through the ceiling of the original caller’s apartment. No one was injured in the incident.
