COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Two people are accused of taking personal information from vehicles and then using it to make purchases in Colorado Springs, according to police.

Police said Cristy Hood, 28, and Geoffrey Chinnow, 27, were arrested Tuesday afternoon. The pair was driving in the area of East Bijou Street and North Circle Drive when officers pulled them over. During the stop, officers found several personal items that didn’t belong to either of them.

Officers investigated and determined the pair had used other people’s financial information to purchase several items from Colorado Springs-area stores. Police said the victims had all reported their information had been stolen from their vehicles.

Police said there are at least five victims, and there may be more.

Hood and Chinnow each face charges of identity theft and first-degree criminal trespass.
