COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Police have arrested a man they say tried to rob a northern Colorado Springs bank earlier this month.

Police said the incident happened around 3 p.m. October 14 at the Vectra Bank in the area of North Academy Boulevard and Briargate Boulevard. A bank employee was outside when she saw a man dressed in camo and a ski mask heading for the bank. She warned the other employees, who locked the doors before the man could get in.

The man left the area on a motorcycle. Officers found several pieces of evidence near the bank that led them to the suspect, David Lyman. Lyman was arrested at his home on Montebello Drive West around 3 p.m. Tuesday. Police said they found more evidence against Lyman inside his home.

Lyman is charged with attempted robbery.
