National parks free Saturday for Public Lands Day

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — National parks across the country are waiving their admission fees Saturday for National Public Lands Day.

The park service said 127 of the country’s 408 national parks usually charge an entrance fee, which will be waived November 11.

Participating parks in Colorado include Black Canyon of the Gunnison National ParkColorado National MonumentDinosaur National MonumentFlorissant Fossil Beds National Monument, Great Sand Dunes National Park and PreserveHovenweep National MonumentMesa Verde National Park, and Rocky Mountain National Park.

The park service said entrance fees, commercial tour fees, and transportation entrance fees will be waived. Visitors will still be responsible for other fees, such as reservations, camping, tours, concessions, and fees collected by third parties.

If you can’t make it to a national park Saturday, don’t worry. Fees will also be waived on November 11 in honor of Veterans Day.
