COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A wanted felony suspect is facing more charges after he crashed a stolen vehicle into a patrol car while trying to evade deputies.

Deputies said Jashua Kresky, 28, had recently been released from prison and was wanted on several parole violations.

Around 5 p.m. Tuesday, deputies saw a Toyota headed southbound on B Street approaching the South Academy Boulevard overpass. The vehicle had temporary license plates that were not registered to it. Deputies determined that Kresky was driving the vehicle. They deployed a flash bang and pulled in front of the vehicle to stop it. As deputies were getting out of their cars, Kresky put the stolen vehicle in reverse and backed away quickly. Another officer blocked Kresky’s progress, preventing him from crashing into other vehicles. Deputies said the officer’s vehicle was significantly damaged.

Deputies searched the stolen vehicle and found ammunition, a large knife, drugs, drugs paraphernalia, and items that had been reported stolen from several different burglaries.

Kresky was jailed on his outstanding felony warrants, as well as charges of second-degree assault of a peace officer, aggravated motor vehicle theft, and possession of a schedule two controlled substance.
