Pawtoberfest coming Saturday

Run with the big dogs (and little ones) and help the homeless animals at Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region during the 7th annual Pawtoberfest fundraiser this Saturday

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The seventh annual Pawtoberfest fundraiser will be on Saturday.

The 5k course benefits programs helping homeless or abused animal in the Pikes Peak Region.

Bring your four-legged friends to Bear Creek Regional Park, where the race will begin at 10 a.m. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and includes a t-shirt and a beer from the beer garden which will be located across the street.

After the run, you can try the All Breed Rescue and Training agility course, polka with your pooch and get free samples from dozens of pet-friendly companies. You can also sign your dog up for the kissing contest and register them to win the best canine costume.

If you ask family and friends to support your run with a donation, you can earn prizes such as: hands-free dog leashes, reversible quilted dog jackets, WiFi pet cameras and more.

Food and beer will be available for purchase with 100 percent of the proceeds going to Humane Society of Pikes Peak Region. See more details and register at the Pawtoberfest website.
