DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. — Two soldiers were injured when a Black Hawk helicopter made a hard landing Wednesday afternoon, according to Fort Carson officials.

Fort Carson officials said the helicopter went down around 4:30 p.m. on U.S. Forest Service land in Douglas County. The crash happened in a remote area that cannot be accessed by road.

There were four soldiers on board the helicopter. Fort Carson officials said two were injured. They are both in stable condition at Memorial Hospital.

Officials said the helicopter was from the 4th Combat Aviation Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, and was on a routine training mission.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
