COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Fire departments across southern Colorado are taking part in the 60th annual Fill the Boot campaign.

More than 1,000 southern Colorado firefighters will be out with boots in hand for this year’s drive, which takes place over Labor Day weekend.

Proceeds from the campaign benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Funds raised will go toward muscular dystrophy research, support groups, and clinics.
