Shots fired at a party in Fountain

FOUNTAIN, Colo. — Saturday night around 11 p.m., the Fountain Police Department responded to the area of Bentwater Drive and Glenburn Drive to investigate a report of shots fired.

The Fountain Communications Center received several calls stating up to eight shots were fired. Officers arrived in the area and learned there was a party in the 7000-block of Bentwater.

One of the guests snapchatted information about the party and a large group of people who were not invited arrived. They were told they needed to leave the residence by the homeowners. As the suspects were leaving, they began arguing with the invited guests of the party and words and threats of fighting each other were exchanged.

As an uninvited guest was seen leaving in a dark-colored SUV, possibly a Mazda, an unknown suspect started shooting from the moving vehicle.

One of the uninvited guests suffered a minor injury and was treated on scene. One of the guest vehicles was struck by bullets, causing minor damage.

The Fountain Police Department is requesting the help from the community. Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to call the Fountain Police Department, Officer Carpenter, at 719-382-8555.
