Major Accidents Unit investigating skateboard and vehicle incident

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Colorado Springs Police and Major Accidents are investigating an incident between a car and skateboarder. It happened near Sumner Street and West Cheyenne Road around 4:15 p.m. Sunday.

FOX21 talked to neighbors, who said they heard some commotion, and when they walked outside, they saw a young woman lying in the street moaning near a skateboard that had been broken in half while a vehicle was nearby.

Police said a pedestrian was riding on a skateboard while holding onto a vehicle. The skateboarder was hit by the vehicle, causing serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle, Alexandria Budde, was arrested and charged with DUID and vehicular assault.

Police said both the driver and victim are teens. CSPD is still looking for any other witnesses who may have seen what happened. If you have any information on this accident please call CSPD at 719-444-7000.
