Pioneers Museum hosts Colorado Grown Festival

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Friday was the anniversary of the day Colorado Springs was founded 144 years ago.

To celebrate, the Pioneers Museum hosted its second annual Colorado Grown Festival Saturday. It highlighted anything and everything unique to Colorado Springs, including local food, music, and arts and crafts.

Visitors could enjoy local goods and even pick up some new skills.

“We offered 13 different workshops today with the organizations,” program coordinator Megan Poole said. “Everything from gardening to learning how to grow your own local produce. So it’s just important to figure out what is happening locally and how you can be a part of it.”

More than 25 different community organizations participated in the celebration.
