The Colorado State Patrol said the crash happened around 6:20 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Highway 24 and 31st Street. A 2002 Lexus LS430 was making a left turn from westbound Highway 24 onto southbound 31st Street when it was hit by a 2003 Dodge Dakota that was headed eastbound on Highway 24. The Lexus then hit a 1993 Chevrolet Suburban that was stopped in the northbound lane of 31st Street.

The passenger in the Lexus, 68-year-old Rudolf Munoz of Greeley, was killed in the crash. The driver of the Lexus, a 16-year-old girl from Colorado Springs, was hospitalized with moderate injuries.

The driver of the Dodge, 30-year-old Darren Wieck of Colorado Springs, and the passenger, 24-year-old Johnathan Moody of Colorado Springs, were both hospitalized with serious injuries.

The driver of the Chevrolet was 53-year-old John Dort of Colorado Springs. The passenger was 56-year-old Dorla McAllister of Colorado Springs. Neither was injured in the crash.

Troopers said all six people involved were wearing their seatbelts.

Troopers said alcohol and drug use are not considered factors in the crash. They said it was caused by failure to yield right-of-way.
