Police: Man facing multiple charges after breaking into home, two cars

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A man has been arrested on burglary and drug charges after breaking into a home and two cars Wednesday afternoon, according to police.

Police said the home burglary happened around 3:15 p.m. in the 1200-block of Shasta Drive, which is in the area of Highway 24 and South Chelton Road. Police said the suspect, 30-year-old Eduardo Parra-Garfias, broke a sliding glass door in the back of the home and took items from inside.

Witnesses told police Parra-Garfias had broken into two cars and stolen items before breaking into the home.

Officers found Parra-Garfias on the scene. Police said he was in possession of stolen items from the home and cars. He was also in possession of meth and a chisel, according to police.

Parra-Garfias is charged with second-degree burglary, first-degree criminal trespass, criminal mischief, possession of burglary tools, and possession of a schedule two controlled substance.
