Four accused of taking items from cars in Fountain

FOUNTAIN, Colo. — Four juveniles are accused of taking items from cars in Fountain over the past few days.

Police said around 2:20 p.m. Wednesday, an officer was investigating a car break-in in the 7700-block of Bentwater Drive when he saw three boys and a girl walking northbound on Creekfront Drive. The officer saw the juveniles checking car doors to determine if they were locked. Then, the officer saw some of the juveniles go into a vehicle and rummage through it.

The officer detained the four suspects. An investigation revealed they had been involved in at least five other incidents over a two-night period starting Monday. Police said the suspects had attempted to enter several other vehicles in the Cross Creek and Heritage neighborhoods. In many cases, according to police, the victims didn’t know the suspects had gone into their vehicles and stolen property.

Three of the suspects were served and released on felony summons. One was booked into the juvenile detention facility based on a previous criminal case.

All four suspects are charged with first-degree criminal tresspass, conspiracy, and theft.
