COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Two businesses in Colorado Springs were robbed overnight, according to police.

Police said the first robbery happened around 11:45 p.m. Wednesday at a business in the 3900-block of Palmer Park Boulevard. A man entered the business and told the clerk they were being robbed. The clerk saw a black handgun in the suspect’s waistband, according to police. The employee didn’t have access to the cash drawer, so a manager was called. The suspect left the store without getting any money.

The second robbery happened about two miles away at a Wendy’s in the 2800-block of East Platte Avenue. Around 1 a.m., a man entered the restaurant with a handgun and demanded money. The suspect, Kawaun Williams, got away with some cash. Officers arrested him a few blocks from the restaurant.
