Two arrested after narcotics found in crashed car

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Two people were arrested after police found narcotics in a crashed car in eastern Colorado Springs Thursday night.

Police said around 9:10 p.m. Thursday, an officer attempted to stop a red Dodge Neon for a traffic violation on Serendipity Circle. The driver refused to stop and left the area. The officer did not pursue. A few minutes later, officers found the car crashed into a tree at the north end of Nevermind Lane. No one was in the car.

Officers found narcotics in and around the car, so they began a search and found one of the suspects. The second suspect left the area, but later turned himself in to police.

The two suspects, David Fernandez and Triston Babcock, were booked into the El Paso County jail.
