Three arrested on motor vehicle theft charges in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Three people were arrested on motor vehicle theft charges after an incident Thursday morning.

Police said around 6 a.m., they were called to investigate a report of a man trying to steal a vehicle in the parking lot of an apartment in the 300-block of University Drive. That’s in the area of Airport Road and South Academy Boulevard in Colorado Springs.

When they arrived, officers saw three people inside a four-door gray Saturn. Officers learned the car had been reported stolen from the 900-block of Arrawanna Street just a few minutes earlier.

Two men and one juvenile were arrested on charges of motor vehicle theft. One of the men was also arrested for being in possession of narcotics, according to police.

The suspects’ names are not being released, as the investigation is ongoing.
