U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – The U.S. Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron, the Thunderbirds, will perform Thursday, May 28 at the end of the Air Force Academy Class of 2015 Graduation Ceremony, and practice that performance on Tuesday, May 26.

Both aerial demonstrations will be centered over the area of Falcon Stadium on the Academy, and as always are subject to cancellation due to weather conditions.

The Thunderbirds’ practice demonstration will be May 26, noon to 1 p.m. They will also conduct practice flyovers of the Academy between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. on May 26.

The Thunderbirds’ Graduation Day performance start time on May 28 will depend on timing with the end-of-ceremony hat toss, but is expected to take place at approximately 12:30 p.m. The performance will last 30 minutes.

For the safety of the general public certain roads will be closed around Falcon Stadium during performance practices on May 26 and the actual performance on May 28. These closures are mandated by the Federal Aviation Administration to ensure the performance area is clear of all personnel.

Because the public’s safety is paramount, drivers are asked not to stop along Interstate 25 to watch the performances.
