Wild weather sweeps through Colorado

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. – Coloradans endured a day of wild weather Saturday as storms produced hail, tornadoes and snow.

Crews were forced to shut down Highway 24 between Cave of the Winds and Cascade for over an hour due to the significant amount of hail and water across the roadway.

The National Weather Service issued a Flash Flood Warning for the Waldo Canton area through Saturday afternoon.

Just an hour later, the National Weather Service issued a Tornado Warning for El Paso County and Pueblo County.

That same storm produced tornadoes, threatening thousands in El Paso County, Kiowa County, and Lincoln County.

Thankfully, the threat for severe weather is predicted to come to an end overnight.
