Pueblo residents to get rid of ‘hard-to-recycle items’ during Recyclable Waste Collection Day

PUEBLO, Colo. — Pueblo residents will be able to get rid of some junk that’s difficult to recycle without having to wait for bulk waste pickup.

City officials are hosting Recyclable Waste Collection Day on Saturday.

From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Pueblo County residents can dump “hard-to-recycle items” at the Colorado State Fair Grounds (Gate 3-Mesa Avenue).

The Pueblo Recyclable Waste Collection Day event is only open to residents in the city and county of Pueblo.

The items that will be accepted for free are as follows:

  • Alkaline and vehicle batteries
  • Fluorescent light bulbs
  • Scrap appliances
  • Latex
  • Spray Paint
  • Cell phones
  • Hard drives/CPUs
  • Stereos
  • Equipment
  • Washers/Dryers
  • Dishwashers

The items that will be accepted for a $5 charge are as follows:

  • Freon appliances
  • Refrigerators
  • Freezers
  • Air conditioners

The items that will be accepted for at least $10 are as follows:

  • Computer monitors
  • Laptops
  • Desktop Printers

Televisions, including flat screens and consoles, can be recycled for a $1.50 charge per screen inch.
