Update: 2 Colorado Springs residents involved in plane crash

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. – A single-engine plane crashed in El Paso County Wednesday evening.

According to Black Forest Fire Department officials, the plane went down in Black Forest just before 6:15 p.m.

Thankfully, the plane crashed in an area with little tree coverage, resulting in no injury to the pilot and the passenger.

Both the pilot and the passenger are said to be Colorado Springs residents.

The pilot was identified as Matthew Tanner, 35, and the passenger as Isaac Brumm, 18, according to Black Forest’s spokesman.

Officials say the plane is a total loss.
