Austin, Texas – The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC werehoping to get revenge in Austin against the Aztex, but fell short. The final score was Switchbacks FC 0: Austin Aztex 1.

In what was a warm and muggy night on the difficult field of House Park, the Switchbacks (2-3-
0) were hoping to even up the series with the Aztex (3-3-0). The two teams last met in the
Switchbacks’ very first USL regular-season match in Austin back in March. That’s when the
Switchbacks fell to the Aztex by 2-0.

Tonight’s Switchbacks’ team struggled at first to get their momentum, and the Aztex capitalized with a goal in the 8’ by Kris Tyrpak (#18) off of an assist from Sainey Touray (#20).
In the second half, the Switchbacks came out swinging and on the attack. That was partly due
to a change in players on the field, with five subs coming in throughout the second half.

Despite the drive, and the Switchbacks out shooting the Aztex, the team just wasn’t able to find the back of the net.

Now, the Switchbacks will have to wait to get their revenge until the two teams meet again at
home in Sand Creek Stadium on Friday, July 3rd.

The Switchbacks will be back on the road next weekend, this time in Arizona when they take on the United SC.

Score – Switchbacks FC 0: Austin Aztex 1
Shots on goal – Switchbacks FC 11, Austin Aztex 9
