Pueblo Animal Services offering free pet exams, vaccines

PUEBLO, Colo. — Pueblo Animal Services is offering free wellness exams and rabies vaccinations for the pets of low-income Pueblo County residents.

The Pet Check will be Saturday, May 9 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Palace of Agriculture at the Colorado State Fairgrounds at 1001 Beulah Avenue in Pueblo.

Both 1- and 3-year rabies vaccinations will be offered at the event. To qualify for a 3-year vaccine, pet owners must provide previous rabies vaccination certificates. Previous rabies vaccinations cannot have been expired for more than 30 days from the date of the event.

Pueblo Animal Services reminds residents that the rabies vaccine is madatory for both cats and dogs in Pueblo County.
