COLORADO SPRINGS – Searching for ways to give back to your community? Colorado Parks and Wildlife has just the thing for you!

Earlier this week, Colorado Parks and Wildlife announced that they are looking for volunteers at the Cheyenne Mountain State Park.

The park is hosting a Volunteer Open House from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 25 at the Visitor Center located on 410 JL Ranch Heights Rd.

Citizens are invited to talk with current volunteers and explore the many opportunities the park has to offer.

Officials say volunteer opportunities include greeting visitors, helping with educational programs and hikes, trail maintenance, fire mitigation and more.

Volunteers that contribute 48 hours or more within a 12 month period receive an annual state parks pass that is valid in all 42 Colorado State Parks.

For more information call Cheyenne Mountain State Park at 719-576-2016.
