CALIFORNIA – A Colorado man is facing four counts of sexual exploitation of a child and two counts of kidnapping after he allegedly kidnapped a toddler and used the toddler to produce child pornography.

Shawn McCormack, 31, was found guilty by a federal jury after evidence revealed that he snuck out of a friend’s home with their child and produced child pornography.

According to evidence, McCormack stayed with a friend in Bakersfield, California, as an overnight guest on multiple occasions.

During McCormack’s stay, McCormack allegedly snuck his friend’s toddler out of the residence and recorded his sexual abuse of the toddler in a nearby motel, outdoors and in his truck.

McCormack would then return the toddler to the house before the parents woke up.

Evidence revealed that McCormack distributed the images and videos of his abuse to others online, including an undercover officer with the Toronto Police Services.

After the images and videos were exposed to undercover agents, detectives were able to identify the date, time and hotel room where one of the videos had been produced.

Now, McCormack has been convicted by a federal jury for kidnapping a toddler and producing child pornography.
