Two arrested on multiple theft, trespassing charges

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Two people were arrested on multiple theft and trespassing charges in Colorado Springs Monday.

Police said around 2:45 p.m., they spotted a stolen vehicle in the parking lot of EntertainMart at 651 North Academy Boulevard. While officers were watching, two men left the vehicle and went into the store. Officers followed them and arrested them. Police said before they were arrested, one of the men tried to pawn a stolen iPod.

Police searched the stolen vehicle and found items from other crimes. Their investigation found that after the men stole the vehicle, they drove around the city, breaking into several other vehicles and mailboxes.

Police said Jason Rhodes, 31, was arrested on charges of aggravated motor vehicle theft and first-degree criminal trespass. Marcus Jones, 22, was arrested on charges of aggravated motor vehicle theft, first-degree criminal trespass, and possession of suspected methamphetamine.
