Two people were arrested after shots were fired at a Security-Widefield bar Sunday night.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s office said the incident happened around 11:30 p.m. at the Shots Tavern at 1831 Main Street. Deputies said two people got into a fight, and one of the suspects pulled out a handgun and pistol whipped a patron. Several rounds were then fired into the bar.

The suspects left before deputies arrived, but a bar employee gave deputies the one of the suspect’s credit card.

Dispatchers identified a vehicle registered to the name on the credit card, and the vehicle matched the description given by witnesses at the bar.

Deputies in the area found the vehicle and two suspects. Inside the SUV, they found blood on the front passenger seat and door. One of the suspects had injuries to his hand and wrist consistent with a fight, according to deputies.

Both suspects were detained and both confessed to their involvement in the crime, according to deputies.

One suspect, Olufemi Gbenga Adegbesan, was arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder and felony menacing. The other suspect, Willie Brian Jones-Walker, was arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder, felony menacing, and illegal use of a firearm.
