Two people were arrested on multiple charges after a hit-and-run crash in Colorado Springs Saturday evening.

Police said the crash happened around 5:30 p.m. in the area of Academy Boulevard and Platte Avenue. Witnesses saw the driver and passenger of a silver 2007 Volkswagen run from the scene toward Citadel Mall. An officer working at the mall detained two people that matched the suspect descriptions, and witnesses positively identified both suspects.

Police said both suspects had a large amount of cash and large quantities of heroin and meth. They were both charged with unlawful distribution of schedule one and two narcotics. The driver was also charged for the hit-and-run.

Because of the ongoing investigation, police have not released the suspects’ names.
