It isn’t hard to figure out whether or not January was a warm month. With 14 days above 50° in Colorado Springs, the mean temperature was over 32°. That was more than 2° higher than normal. The city of Pueblo made it over 60° eight times and twice exceeded 70°! That left the city a full three degrees over the average. The warmest day of the month in both cities was the on 27th with 67° in Colorado Springs, and 73° in Pueblo.

Despite the warm weather, Colorado Springs fared well with the monthly snow totals. Over 13 inches fell on the city, more than double the average! The abundance of snow got the city off to a good start in the precipitation category. The total is now over a half inch above average.

The news wasn’t as good in Pueblo. The snowfall was a little anemic at 4.5 inches, about 60% of normal. The eight days with snow translated into just a quarter of an inch of precipitation.

For February, The National Weather Service is predicting above average temperatures and average precipitation.
