New Mexico homicide suspect apprehended in Colorado Springs

A homicide suspect wanted in New Mexico was arrested in Colorado Springs Saturday morning.

The Colorado Springs Police Department was called to the 700-block of North Prospect Street around 5:30 a.m. Saturday to assist police from New Mexico, who were actively looking for a homicide suspect who fled their state.

Officers arrived on the scene and arrested two men. One was 20-year-old Ricardo Martinez, who was wanted in connection with a homicide investigation in the Santa Fe County area. The other man, whose name was not released, was arrested on a probation violation out of New Mexico.
