Glenwood Springs getting another hot springs park

Glenwood Springs is getting another hot springs park.

Developers of the Iron Mountain Hot Springs at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park are holding a groundbreaking ceremony Monday at the site of the historic Iron Springs Spa west of Two Rivers Park.

The property has been vacant since 1996 when the historic bath house and red brick mansion dating to the late 1800s were torn down to make way for what ended up being an unsuccessful attempt by the previous owners to build a water slide adventure park on the site.

The Glenwood Springs Post Independent reports plans include a family hot pool and four smaller pools for soaking and relaxation.

Glenwood Springs has many natural hot springs that flow from beneath the mountains into the Colorado River
