A Fort Carson soldier was shot and killed in a non-combat related incident in Jordan, according to military officials.

Spec. Adrian M. Perkins, 19, of Pine Valley, Calif., died on Saturday at King Hussein Hospital in Amman, Jordan.

The shooting remains under investigation. Officials said no Jordanians were involved and Perkins was the only person shot.

Perkins, according to the DOD, was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

He was a part of the 1st Battalion, 67th Armor Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson.
