Robert Heckmann Pueblo County Sheriff's Office

The Pueblo man charged with animal cruelty for allegedly videotaping himself while torturing and killing a cat has pleaded guilty to animal cruelty. That is according to the Pueblo County District Attorney’s Office.

The DA says there is no plea agreement for Robert Heckmann, 25, and he faces up to 18 months in prison.

His sentencing date has been set for early June.

According to Joe Stafford, the Director of Animal Law Enforcement at the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region (HSPPR) and Pueblo Animal Services (PAS), this is one of the worst and most distressing cases of cruelty he has ever seen.
