Man robs El Paso County convenience store with gun

A Colorado Springs-area convenience store was robbed at gunpoint Sunday evening, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office. 

It happened at about 7:40 p.m., at the Loaf ‘N Jug in the 6600 block of Galley Road. That’s near the intersection of Powers Boulevard and Highway 24.

According to the Sheriff’s office, the suspect walked into the store and pointed a handgun at the clerk. An unknown amount of money was taken.

The suspect left the store in a newer-model light brown SUV.

He was described as being a white man and 5’10″ tall with a heavy build. He was wearing a blue beanie hat, blue jeans and a black winter coat with blue stripes.

No one was injured during the robbery. Investigation continues.
