Traffic Alert: Road closures and delays for the week ahead

Motorists, be aware.

The following is a list fo the highway projects from the Colorado Department of Transportation planned for this week across Southern Colorado.

Officials said all work is dependent upon the weather.

I 25 Northbound/Southbound From Raton Pass North
(Milemarker 1-7) (through November 2013)

7:00 AM-6:00 PM MO-FR, 24 Hours-
 Single lane closures NB & SB I-25 24/7 for bridge expansion replacement and bridge deck repairs at various bridges. Single lane closures elsewhere MO-FR for guardrail installation and curb work.
Delays possible. 15 ft width restriction. Speed limit reduced to 45 mph.

I 25 Northbound/Southbound Between Midway and Academy Boulevard
(Milemarker 119-135) (through November 2013)

6:00 PM-6:00 AM SU-TH
 Single lane and shoulder closures in both directions on I-25 over Academy for paving and bridge deck repair at 8p-5a. Single lane and shoulder closures NB and SB south of Fountain for shoulder railroad signing, mileposts 119-124, 6p-6a. Delays possible.

I 25 Northbound From Woodmen Road to Monument
(Milemarker 149-161) (through December 2013)

8:00 PM-5:30 AM SU-TH, 7:00 AM-5:00 PM MO-FR
 Nighttime: Various lane closures in both directions on I-25. Various ramp closures possible.
Daytime: Possible various ramp restrictions and shoulder closures for roadway reconstruction. In addition, single lane closure SB I-25 over Woodmen SU & MO for paving and waterproofing at 8p. Delays possible.

I 25 Northbound/Southbound Between Ridgegate and Surrey Ridge
(Milemarker 192) (through November 2013)

7:00 PM-5:00 AM MO-FR, 24 Hours-
 Single lane closed in each direction on I-25 24/7 for bridge expansion joint replacement and concrete slab replacement. MO-FR, only 2 lanes open in each direction at 7p. Delays possible.

US 24 Eastbound at Circle Drive
(Milemarker 305.5) (through November 2013)

8:00 PM-5:00 AM SU-TH
 SU, full closure on EB US 24; MO-TH, single lane closures EB for expansion joint replacement. SU, detour posted. Alternate routes strongly advised.

US 350 Eastbound/Westbound Near Hoehne
(Milemarker 6.5) (through November 2013)

24 Hours-
 There will be one lane alternating traffic with traffic signals for bridge demolition. Speed limit reduced to 40 mph. 10 minute delays possible. 14 ft width restriction in effect through mid December 2013.

US 50 Eastbound/Westbound La Junta West
(Milemarker 376.3) (through January 2014)

24 Hours-
 Only one lane open in each direction for pipe installation. Delays possible.

US 85 Northbound/Southbound Between Cook Ranch and just north of Louviers
(Milemarker 193-198) (through October 2013)

7:00 PM-6:00 AM SU and MO, 7:00 AM-5:00 PM TU-FR
 Various lane closures SU for concrete grinding operations and MO for traffic realignment. TU-FR, intermittent lane closures to allow equipment to enter and exit the project. Delays possible.

CO 115 Northbound/Southbound at 9th Street and Elm Avenue
(Milemarker 0.8) (through October 2013)

7:00 AM-5:00 PM MO-FR
 Single lane closures possible on SH 115 for widening, roundabout construction at 9th and Elm and realignment of the SH 115 and Elm intersection. Delays possible. West Elm Ave (west of 9th) and South 9th St (south of Elm) are closed 24/7 to through traffic. Nearby residents and businesses have access via Barium Ave.

CO 83 Northbound/Southbound and CO 105/Walker Road Intersection
(Milemarker 28) (through October 2013)

7:00 AM-7:00 PM MO-FR
 Turn lane and right lane closures for paving operations. In addition, periodic no right or left turn off of CO 83. Alternate routes strongly advised. Major delays possible.

CO 86 Eastbound/Westbound East of Franktown
(Milemarker 6.8-12.5) (through November 2013)

8:00 AM-6:00 PM MO-FR
 There will be one lane alternating traffic with pilot car and flaggers for asphalt removal and paving operations. 15 minute delays. Speed limit reduced to 40 mph through work zone
