Man robbed at gunpoint in liquor store parking lot

A man was robbed at gunpoint while in his car in a liquor store parking lot Sunday evening, according to Colorado Springs police. 

The robbery happened at about 7:15 p.m., in the parking lot of Mission Point Liquors in the 3000 block of Jet Wing Drive, near the intersection of South Academy Boulevard and Hancock Expressway.

The victim told police that as he was leaving the store and driving through the parking lot, a suspect started pounding on his windows. He then stopped his car and a suspect opened the door, ordered him out of his car and punched him in the ribs.

A second suspect opened the passenger door and pointed a handgun at the victim, police said. The first suspect grabbed the victim’s phone from his lap and both suspects ran away.

No injuries were reported.

Police checked the area for the suspects but neither could be found.

The first suspect was described as a black man about 23 years old, 5’9″ and 120 pounds. He had short black hair and was wearing along blue t-shirt and jeans.

Police said the other suspect was described as a black man about 25 years old, 5’9″ and 210 pounds. He was wearing a dark shirt and jeans.
