Traffic Alert: Road closures and delays for the week ahead

Motorists, be aware. The following is a list fo the highway projects from the Colorado Department of Transportation planned for this week across Southern Colorado.

Officials said all work is dependent upon the weather.

From CDOT: August 11-17, 2013

I 25 Northbound/Southbound From Raton Pass North
(Milemarker 1-7) (through November 2013)
7:00 AM-6:00 PM MO-FR, 24 Hours- Single lane closures NB & SB I-25 24/7 for bridge expansion replacement and bridge deck repairs at various bridges. Single lane closures elsewhere MO-FR for guardrail installation and curb work. Delays possible. 15 ft width restriction. Speed limit reduced to 45 mph.

I 25 Northbound/Southbound 29th Street in Pueblo
(Milemarker 100-100) (through August 2013)

6:00 PM-7:00 AM MO-FR
 Single lane closures in both directions for paving operations. Delays possible. Alternate route advised.

I 25 Northbound/Southbound Between Midway and Academy Boulevard
(Milemarker119-135) (through November 2013)

6:00 PM-6:00 AM SU-TH
 Single lane closure on NB I-25 over Academy Blvd for bridge deck repair 8p-5a. In addition, single lane closure NB I-25 between Midway and Ray Nixon Rd for paving operations 6p-6a. Delays possible.

I 25 Northbound From Woodmen Road to Monument
(Milemarker 149-161) (through December 2013)

24 Hours-
 The Ackerman Overlook located just north of Briargate along southbound I-25 will be closed for reconstruction at a location north of its current location.
7:00 PM-5:30 AM SU-TH, 7:00 AM-5:00 PM MO-FR Nighttime: Various lane closures in both directions on I-25. Various ramp closures possible. Daytime: Possible various ramp restrictions for roadway reconstruction. Delays possible.

US 385 Northbound/Southbound in Cheyenne Wells
(Milemarker 151-156) (through August 2013)

7:00 AM-5:00 PM MO-TH
 There will be one lane alternating traffic with pilot cars for paving operations. Delays possible.

US 50 Eastbound/Westbound Between 1st Street in Canon City and the Royal Gorge
(Milemarker 280-270) (through October 2013)

24 Hours-
 Beginning 7/22/13 and continuing through 8/7/13: Right lane closed WB US 50 milepost 277-278 24 hours a day. Beginning 8/7/13, the right lane of EB US 50 near Canon City will be closed 24/7 until further notice. MO, WE & TH, possible lane closures EB and/or WB US 50 6a-6p for paving operations. One lane open in each direction. Work includes asphalt removal and paving. Minimal delays anticipated. Speed limit reduced to 35 mph WB out of Canon City. Speed reduced to 45 mph in all other work zones.

US 85 Northbound/Southbound Between Cook Ranch and just north of Louviers
(Milemarker 193-198) (through October 2013)

7:00 AM-6:00 PM MO-FR
 Intermittent stops with flaggers for paving operations and trucks entering and exiting the work zone. Delays possible.

CO 115 Northbound/Southbound at 9th Street and Elm Avenue
(Milemarker 0.8) (through September 2013)

7:00 AM-5:00 PM MO-FR
 Single lane closures possible on SH 115 for widening, roundabout construction at 9th and Elm and realignment of the SH 115 and Elm intersection. Delays possible. West Elm Ave (west of 9th) and South 9th St (south of Elm) are closed 24/7 to through traffic. Nearby residents and businesses have access via Barium Ave.

CO 83 Northbound/Southbound South of Franktown near Castlewood Canyon State Park
(Milemarker 46-47) (through August 2013)

8:00 AM-4:30 PM MO-FR
 Single lane closed in each direction for bridge joint repairs. Delays possible.

CO 86 Eastbound/Westbound Founders Parkway East of N Crowfoot Valley Road In Castle Rock
(Milemarker 102) (through August 2013)
8:00 AM-3:00 PM MO and TU Right lane or left turn lane closed in both directions as needed for utility work. Delays possible.
