A supervisor at a group home has been arrested on allegations that she sexually assaulted a juvenile, according to Colorado Springs police.

Officers were first called to a reported sexual assault at the Nevada House, located in the 2100 block of North Nevada Avenue, on April 19. The Nevada House, according to authorities, is a home for juveniles who are in custody of the  El Paso County Department of Human Services (DHS). DHS said they have a contract with the Nevada House but their employees are not employees of DHS.

The supervisor, 32-year-old Amanda Santos was arrested on charges of Sexual Assault on a Child by One in the Position of Trust.

The report of sexual assault was forwarded to the department’s Sexual Assault Unit.

Police said the male victim claimed Santos sexually assaulting him soon after he got to the center in Dec. 2012.

The boy said he did not initially come forward with the allegations because he was afraid people would not believe him since Santos was a staff member. He also told police he was afraid he would get in trouble.

Sexual Assault on a Child by One in the Position of Trust is a class four felony.
